I didn’t have any problems while living in Europe for 3 years, But I will admit once in the UK I did pull out onto the wrong side for a brief second. but this was entertaining.. :)

hey now, broad brush there; we have plenty of roundabouts in the Detroit area now, I’d be fine. I think I’d have the most difficulty adjusting to driving on the other side of the road.

although the “fookin’ twat!” part got a laugh out of me.

I love roundabouts when I’m in my work van. I really hope that I get hit, because it’s not my fault, not my vehicle, not my insurance, not my problem. That just means I get to hang out and talk to the cops for the rest of the day instead of doing any real work. No luck so far, though.

We have the occasional roundabout around here too, but ours are all little decorative single lane ones in neighborhoods. And even then some folks don’t yield.

I've never understood why people have problems with roundabouts. I come from an area with none and only encounter them in cities and have no troubles with them. Then again I've seen many drivers have problems with straight interstate.

I would say that the only real solution is cloverleaf or mix-master, but the amount of times I’ve seen motorists of all types dive across multiple lanes before one of those things proves me wrong.

Looks to me like in these roundabouts/junctions, it’s not apparent which lane you’re supposed to be in until you’re right on top of the decision point, where the sign is. Sure, there are markings on the roadway, but expecting non-locals to be looking down at the asphalt 20' in front of them while driving in an unfamiliar place is unrealistic and unsafe.

We have bigger signs for historical markers than the cities in these clips have for route guidance.
